about me
Aside from traveling and taking photographs around the world, to building custom computers, I have always have had a keen interest in the graphic arts. In retrospect, as a child I have always been one to always tinker or deconstruct what I could physically get my hands on. Curiously enough, it could be anything really, I found it intriguing to observe and understand how objects were put together and function in a systematic way. When my parents bought our first household computer, I spent a lot of time creating random drawings, mostly illustrations of famed comic book characters and whatever else was on my mind at the time.
What is The Sleepybeats Creative? Quite honestly it has nothing to do with making music, but rather a culmination of design projects that I have enjoyed working on. I also enjoy photography as a hobby and sometimes throw that into the mix as well.
THE PROJECT
For The Sleepybeats Creative brand identity, I wanted to use themes found among classic Swiss typography and modernist design. The Helvetica type family is so commonplace that I decided to use it here. Its simplistic nature, easy readability, and timeless look makes it easy for the branding to stay relevant. At the core of my design features a color palette that takes inspiration from the 1930s Bauhaus movement. The colors are lively, but yet toned down, giving a sense of history and permanence.
